Will Start My Claim represent me?

No. We are document-assembly software, not a law firm and not a Claims Management Company. Every letter goes from you, in your name. We never receive funds, never act on your behalf, never make decisions for you. That is what keeps your case fully under your control and our pricing fixed.

Can I just use ChatGPT instead?

You can ask ChatGPT for general guidance, but it has three serious limitations for a legal case: (1) its knowledge has a cut-off date, so it does not know the current statutory caps or recent law; (2) it will hallucinate case law citations and statutory section numbers that look plausible but do not exist; (3) it does not know your case — your dates, your evidence, your deadlines — so its answers stay generic. Our AI is built specifically for UK employment, civil and financial complaint law, kept current with the latest statutory figures, and connected to your case data.

What if I get stuck on a step?

Every page has plain-English explanations and the AI Companion is always available. If your question is procedural (how do I get to court? what does this letter mean?) the AI answers in seconds. If your question is strategic (should I settle?) we tell you what your options are and what each one is likely to cost you — but the decision is yours.

Do you check my documents before they go out?

We do not legally review your documents — we are not solicitors. The AI generates them in the format the court or Financial Ombudsman Service expects, with the correct legal references. You review every document before sending and you sign every document. If you want a solicitor to review before filing, you are free to do so — your documents are yours.

What happens if my case fails?

You keep all the documents, all the work product, all the AI conversation history. You pay nothing more (no commission, no per-hour bills). Most cases that "fail" do so at the earliest stage — getting a No from the bank, or a defendant who simply has no money to pay even after judgment. Our refund and termination policy is in the terms of service.

We are not a law firm (so not regulated by the SRA) and not a Claims Management Company (so not FCA-authorised as a CMC). We provide self-service software that consumers use to build their own claims — like LawDepot, Farewill, or DoNotPay. The legal protections you rely on are statutory (Consumer Rights Act, Limitation Act, etc.) and procedural (CPR / Ombudsman DISP rules), not contractual with us.
